On Aug. 16, Shane Kimsey Harris, 51, Madison, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts. According to reports, an officer was dispatched to the parking lot of Cornerstone Church, Main Street, regarding a man threatening a woman. Reports allege that a 17-year-old female told police that while she was parked preparing to go into Georgia Military College, she was talking with a 26-year-old man who she described as a friend. Harris allegedly approached the man telling the man he needed to leave. The 26-year-old male allegedly told Harris to leave both he and the teen alone and Harris allegedly threatened the man and said he would beat him and throw him in his truck. When an officer arrived, he spoke with Harris and Harris said he was trying to protect the woman. Reports state that the officer advised Harris to leave the two alone and Harris became “angry at me and told me I had better watch out because he was special forces ranger and didn’t know what he was capable of doing.” Harris was then arrested.

On Aug. 21, an information report was filed at the westbound off ramp of Interstate 20. According to reports, a man said while he was on Interstate 20, he hit some type of object that caused two tires on his trailer to blow out. An officer noted a flat spot on one of the rims of the trailer.

On July 26, a burglary complaint was filed at Main Street Pantry, South Main Street. According to reports, an employee reported that someone had broken the front door of the business. An officer observed a brick near the broken glass of the front door. Reports state that someone apparently attempted to breach the store’s ATM machine. An office door was broken open, two cash register drawers were removed and a number of Bud Light beers were taken from a cooler located near the front door. A search of the area found Bud Light beers and Sutter Home wine bottles taken from the business. The cash register drawers were located in the parking lot of a nearby business.

On Aug. 9, Shaun Danielle Anderson, 30, Monticello, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. According to reports, a Walmart employee alleged that Anderson did not pay $208.25 for groceries in her cart. The employee alleged that Anderson only partially scanned items in the cart.

On Aug. 14, a theft by shoplifting complaint was filed at Walmart, Eatonton Road. According to reports, an employee alleged that a man entered the store, took a 65” ONN television worth $448 and left the store in a silver or gold Chevrolet Suburban.

On Aug. 14, a burglary complaint was filed at Dos Amigos, Eatonton Road. According to reports, an employee reported that at 7:30 a.m., he noticed the glass door to patio seating at the restaurant had been shattered. An officer observed a broken stone along with glass debris inside the doorway. Surveillance showed that at 10:30 p.m. a heavyset male wearing a black hoodie broke into the restaurant and rummaged through the waitress stations and the bar area. The suspect removed two cash drawers, a printer and a change jar and left. The suspect walked to a light colored SUV, placed the items in the vehicle and returned to the restaurant where he then took six bottles of Patron Tequila and left again. An hour later the suspect returned and took another bottle of Patron Tequila and beer and left again.
